ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
The Gasconade Co. R-I School District is a PK-12 school located in Hermann, Missouri. Within the District are three schools, Hermann Elementary, Hermann Middle School, and Hermann High School. The Gasconade Co. R-I School District encompasses 370.5981 square miles, the 13th largest in Missouri public schools.

ABOUT OUR STUDENTS
Approximately 960 students are enrolled in the District in grades Pre-kindergarten through twelfth. 45.2% of the District student population qualifies for the federal free/reduced lunch program. The student body consists of approximately 3% minority population. Finally, 16.56% of students served by the District qualify for special education services.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education sets the standard for proportional attendance rate at 90% of students will maintain 90% attendance or greater. Students at Hermann High School have a proportional attendance rate of 92.49%. Students at Hermann Middle School have a proportional attendance rate of 95.02%, while at Hermann Elementary the proportional attendance rate is 96.34%.

The Gasconade Co. R-I District employs 78 certified teachers and 6 administrators. The average teacher salary in 2016 was $39,772, while the average administrator salary was $76,045. 
The average years of teaching in the District is 12, with 50.9% of teachers holding a Master's Degree or other advanced degree.
In 2016, the average students per classroom teacher ratio is 1:17, while the average students per teacher ratio is 1:12. 
100% of certified staff in the District hold appropriate educator certification and 99% of certified staff are highly qualified educators, as determined by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.



ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY
The city of Hermann is nestled along the banks of the Missouri River in between Columbia and St. Louis, just less than 15 miles south of I-70. Hermann is a fourth class city with a Mayor/Aldermen/Administrator form of government. Throughout the city you will find several parks which are under the management and control of the Hermann Park Board, with a swimming pool, camping and RV sites, tennis and basketball courts, ball fields, and playground equipment.

Many Boards, Committees, and Commissions serve the community of Hermann. Heritage, fine arts, and industrial development are only a few of the many volunteer focuses for which to hold the community to a high standard.

Today Hermann’s Old-World charm attracts visitors in search of the quiet pleasures of an earlier era. Much of downtown is a historic district where brick homes from the 1800s hug the sidewalk in the traditional German style. More than 150 buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places.
