The Gasconade County R-1 Board of Education has selected Tony Terry Jr. as the next head coach of the boy's and girl's track programs. Coach Terry joins us from Montgomery R-II, where he taught high school math and coached middle school track. Coach Terry moved to Hermann in the fall of 2020 and found his passion for teaching and coaching while he was attending college, substituting at GCR-1 and serving as the assistant track coach for three years under Coach Morris. He is excited to be back in Hermann where his family resides.
During his time as an athlete and as a coach, Coach Terry has developed a diverse background of track events and has coached or competed in every discipline within track and field. Coach Terry said “I look forward to the opportunity to coach and develop our next generation of great student athletes in Hermann, and I hope that through our program they can learn tools that will help them be successful in all areas of life.”
Coach Terry is a graduate of Owensville High School. He holds a Bachelor’s of Art degree from Western Governors University.
GCR-1 Athletic Director Todd Anderson said about the hire, "We are excited to welcome Coach Terry back to Hermann and look forward to the continued success of our Track and Field Program.”
