Senate Bill 68, which was signed into law, July 9, 2025, has made changes to cell phone use in schools. Students will not be allowed to display or use cell phones and other electronic personal communication devices during the school day. Electronic personal communication devices are defined as devices used to initiate, receive, store, or view communication, information, images, or data electronically. This applies to cell phones, tablets, and wireless earbuds. Cell phone use will not be allowed once students enter the school building. No cell phones should be visible throughout the school day. Cell phones will be confiscated by administrators. If a student refuses to hand over their device, parents or guardians will be contacted to pick up the device or their student.
Any unauthorized use will result in consequences outlined in the student handbooks of each building.

Dear Gasconade County R-1 Families,
I hope this message finds you enjoying your summer. I am writing to share an update regarding the spring 2025 Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) Grade-Level Assessments (grades 3–8) or End-of-Course (EOC) Exams (high school), which your child completed last spring. These assessments measure student progress toward mastering the Missouri Learning Standards, which outline the knowledge and skills needed for success in college, post-secondary training, and careers.
The Individual Student Reports (ISRs) for these assessments are now available. These reports indicate your child’s achievement level—Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, or Advanced—and include a brief description of the skills typically demonstrated at each level.
For middle school students, ISRs will be distributed during parent-teacher conferences. For high school students, reports will be included with progress reports. If you would like to receive your child’s results earlier, please contact your child’s school office, and we will gladly provide a copy.
If you have any questions about your child’s report, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for your continued support of Gasconade County R-1 School District and for entrusting us with your children’s education.
Sincerely,
Dr. Leslie Lause
Associate Superintendent
